Stranger Things: Millie Bobby Brown Praises David Harbour’s Supportive Presence on Set Amid Rumour Speculation

Washington DC, USA:
Putting weeks of online speculation to rest, Stranger Things stars Millie Bobby Brown and David Harbour showcased strong chemistry and mutual respect during the press event for the fifth and final season of the Netflix hit.

Rumours recently surfaced after Harbour missed a series of cast interviews, sparking social-media theories about tension within the team. However, Brown dismissed any such concerns while reflecting on her emotional experience filming the final season alongside the 50-year-old actor.

Speaking to Deadline, Millie said she always felt secure working with Harbour:

“Of course I felt safe. We’ve worked together for 10 years. I feel safe with everyone on that set.”

The actress highlighted the deep and unique bond created through their characters — Eleven and her adoptive father, Jim Hopper — a relationship that shaped their connection behind the scenes as well.

“We also play father and daughter, so naturally you have a closer bond than the rest, because we have had some really intense scenes together, especially in season two,” Millie shared.

Calling their collaboration a “labour of love,” she credited Harbour for helping her grow as an actor and continuously elevating her performance.

The pair reflected their strong rapport publicly too — sharing smiles, conversations, and posing together at the November 6 red-carpet event. Their comfortable camaraderie effectively put an end to online claims of friction.

Earlier speculation arose when Harbour did not join the rest of the cast for the press tour. A source later clarified that he had never been confirmed for that round of interviews due to commitments on a separate project.

At the Los Angeles premiere of Season 5, the friendly atmosphere continued as Harbour even light-heartedly joked about Millie’s husband, Jake Bongiovi, proving that the actors’ off-screen bond remains warm and intact.

As Stranger Things prepares to close its final chapter, fans can rest assured that the cherished father-daughter dynamic between Eleven and Hopper continues to thrive both on-screen and off.
